The centre was established in 2000 and is dedicated to promoting the craft of glassmaking and where traditional skills are taught alongside contemporary techniques. Its courses provide a unique opportunity for total beginners and those with previous experience to learn new skills and gather experience in an exciting studio atmosphere.

Philosophy...

The Liquid Glass Centre aims to provide the very best standard of glassmaking tuition. We teach a broad range of courses, from cold to warm to hot glass, and were pioneers in the provision of short glass courses all the year round in the UK.

Every student is supported by knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff who are all highly skilled in their field, and most with many years of teaching experience. We really believe that the hands-on approach is the best way to learn, providing our students with a solid grounding in their chosen glassmaking technique. We aim to give students an all round experience where we facilitate learning and provide technical information within a creative and social environment.

We are forward thinking and always keep up to date with current practices and developments in creative glass technology. We actively promote glass as a contemporary medium, and organise exhibitions, networking events and masterclasses.

Our mission is to exceed students’ expectations as well as make the time spent with us an enjoyable and unforgettable experience.

  Location - Stowford Manor Farm...

Situated on the beautiful riverside site of Stowford Manor Farm in Wiltshire, the spectacular yet remote setting offers a retreat where creativity and glass can be explored.
The site boasts camping, bed and breakfast and riverside swimming (great for cooling down after a days blowing). It is only 10 minutes walk from the 14th century castle of Farleigh Hungerford and close to the ancient Roman spa town of Bath.
