| Helga makes stained glass panels and
cast glass for exhibition, architectural and site specific commissions.
As well as working with traditional stained glass techniques,
she also uses hot glass techniques such as fusing, slumping
and casting. |
| Helga trained as an archaeologist
before becoming interested in traditional stained glass. Working
with glass in this medium led to the desire to use hot glass
techniques in her work. Using slumped and fused glass in her
stained glass panels the glass takes on a new life of light,
colour and movement - it is no longer flat, but reflects light
and energy in many directions, from many facets. |

In 2000
Helga graduated from Wolverhampton University with a Masters
degree in glass. |
| The theme of Helga's
work is centred around the energy and spirit of nature,
with glass acting as a carrier of this energy, the most
obvious being light. Her work now focuses on large-scale
kiln cast sculpture, which is equally at home in the gallery
or the garden. |
