Set in the heart of South West England, Liquid Glass run a wide range of short courses, weekend workshops and a week long spring and summer school. You can choose to study hot glass work - glassblowing, sand casting and lamp work; or warm glass work - kiln forming, kiln casting, fusing and slumping; as well as contemporary stained glass. We also run specialist courses such as Pate de Verre and venetian techniques for students with some knowledge of glass, who want to learn specific techniques ..or simply experiment!
At the Liquid Glass Centre we foster a hands-on approach to glassmaking, encouraging the use of this unique and exciting material for self-expression and artistic development. Students will work in a fully equiped glass blowing studio with comprehensive facilities and a low student/tutor ratio, enabling them to get maximum benefit from the tuition - and put their ideas into practice. Explore Your Creativity!... Fun and experimentation is positively encouraged. Students have the opportunity to let their imagination flow into sculptural forms, or they can make beautiful, functional objects. Whether abstract or functional, our students are often amazed and thrilled at what they can achieve.
Situated on the beautiful riverside site of Stowford Manor Farm in Wiltshire, the spectacular yet remote setting offers a retreat where creativity and glass can be explored. The site boasts camping, bed and breakfast and riverside swimming (great for cooling down after a days blowing). It is only 10 minutes walk from the 14th century castle of Farleigh Hungerford and close to the ancient Roman spa town of Bath.
