Born in Liverpool, Kim studied glass at Staffordshire University and Brieley Hill International Glass centre. She travelled to the glass making regions of Sweden and America, studying both traditional and contemporary techniques. Kim has worked for various British glass studios as a glass blower. She also produces a range of contemporary, functional glassware, which is retailed throughout the U.K. in craft galleries.
Kim's work uses a combination of hot glass processes and kiln forming techniques. She finds her inspiration within the minute details of the natural world, and using her skills in the glass blowing studio, develops and finalises her designs in the kiln, dissecting and slumping solid and blown glass elements. Kims latest range of mirrors and blown forms using vibrant colours and organic shapes are both functional and funky.
