| KT left her home near Loch Ness at
the age of 16, to persue a career in Art. She came across glass
blowing at Cumbria School of Art, and went on to study a degree
in Glass Design in Farnham, where she began to develop her own
definite style, and now teaches part-time. |
| After working and travelling around
both Europe and USA working in many diverse factories and studios,
KT set up her own Glass Business, blowing contemporary glass,
and designing glass for industry. KT's "Fruit Series"
is semi-sculptural glass, giving everyday kitchen items a colourful
and exotic slant. The pieces are an affordable marriage of Art,
Function and femininity. |
|
Her
new series of work focuses on the architectural construction
of insects, using glass to animate their features. The
forms, subjects and concepts represent nature with an
ironic, cartoon-like humorous flavour in their colour
and construction. |
